Some couples just have this way of making you feel instantly at ease, like you’ve known them forever. That’s exactly how it felt with Alanah and Dale.
From the moment we first met, I knew their wedding was going to be something special — warm, joyful, and completely filled with love.
This was also my very first wedding at the Virgin Hotel Edinburgh, and what a place to start! The hotel is a stunning mix of modern chic and old-town charm, with so many beautiful corners to capture moments in. It set the perfect stage for Alanah and Dale’s day.
BEFORE THE WEDDING
The morning was full of laughter, a little bit of nervous excitement, and all the happy chaos that makes wedding prep so much fun. Alanah looked absolutely breathtaking in her gown from Eleganza Sposa, glowing with elegance and excitement. Her bridesmaids, dressed in Victoria Lou Bridal, brought all the colour, joy, and energy into the room — the kind of bridal party that makes the morning unforgettable.
Meanwhile, Dale and his groomsmen kept things sharp and stylish. Dale wore a sleek Hugo Boss suit while the boys looked equally dapper in Reiss. Together, they were the picture of cool confidence, ready to meet the day head-on.
The floral design by Pixie Rose Flowers transformed the venue into a romantic, vibrant space. Gaynor from Elegant Bridal Hairstyling worked her magic with hair and makeup, making sure Alanah and her girls looked flawless all day long. Add in a gorgeous glow from With Sam Collective, nails by Nails by Nicola H, and rings from Aetla — it all came together beautifully.
The ceremony was heartfelt and full of smiles, the kind where you can’t help but grin behind the camera. And then the party began — the kind of party where no one leaves the dance floor. With Jordan from We Are Tartan keeping the music flowing, the atmosphere was electric. And let’s not forget the stunning cake from Liggy’s Cakes — a sweet showstopper that didn’t just look amazing but tasted incredible too!

The Party
And then came the party — and what a party it was! After the romantic vows and emotional speeches, everyone was ready to let loose and celebrate. The Virgin Hotel was the perfect backdrop for a night of laughter, dancing, and unforgettable moments.
Alanah and Dale kicked things off with their first dance, and it was one of those moments where time seemed to slow down — the way they looked at each other said it all. Then the dance floor opened, and from that point on, it never emptied.

Jordan from We Are Tartan kept the energy sky-high with music that had absolutely everyone on their feet, from the littlest guests to the grandparents. I loved capturing the in-between moments too — the hugs, the cheers, the goofy dance moves, and the friends linking arms singing at the top of their lungs.
And of course, the cake from Liggy’s Cakes was a highlight of the night. Beautifully made and delicious, it was the perfect sweet touch before the party really kicked into full swing.
Alanah and Dale’s wedding was everything you could hope for — stylish, emotional, and so full of fun. It was a privilege to capture it all, and such a joy to work alongside such an incredible team of suppliers.
