There’s something so beautifully simple and real about an elopement — no big crowds, no grand expectations, just two people, their love, and a little bit of adventure. Ela and Rob’s Edinburgh elopement was exactly that kind of magic.
We met in their hotel that morning, and from the moment I walked in, I could tell it was going to be special. They were getting ready together — helping each other with outfits, fixing little details, laughing the whole time. It was honestly the cutest thing to watch (and photograph!). No nerves, no rush — just pure joy and intimacy.
After they were ready, we took a stroll through the cobbled streets of Edinburgh toward the City Chambers, where the ceremony was set to take place. The weather had that classic Scottish unpredictability — one minute sunshine, the next, a soft drizzle — but it only made the day feel more romantic. The city looked moody and beautiful, and they looked completely unfazed, just wrapped up in their own little world.
When we arrived at the City Chambers, there was one tiny challenge — no witnesses! So, what did we do? We found them right there on the street! A group of four lovely strangers were walking by, and they happily agreed to be part of the moment. I ended up being one of the witnesses too, which made the whole thing even more personal. It’s not every day that I get to both photograph and officially sign off on a love story!
The ceremony was short, heartfelt, and incredibly touching. There was so much warmth in that tiny room — two people promising forever, with just a handful of us watching. Afterwards, we all shared a little laugh and a few quick photos together before heading out into the city for a photoshoot.
Despite the drizzle that came and went, we wandered through the Old Town streets, stopping at all those charming corners and hidden alleys that make Edinburgh feel so cinematic. Ela and Rob were absolute naturals — playful, tender, and totally smitten.
We ended the day back at the hotel, where they changed into comfy clothes and brought out a little cake for one last round of photos. It was the perfect ending — cozy, sweet, and full of love. No big plans, no big party — just them. And honestly, it couldn’t have been more beautiful.
