What a day! Emma and Matthew’s wedding was one of those celebrations that reminded me why I absolutely love being a wedding photographer in Edinburgh. From the City Chambers ceremony to their reception at the Glasshouse, it was a perfect blend of elegance, laughter, and a little bit of spontaneity. I will remember this Wedding FOREVER!
Getting Ready for the Big Day
The morning started with such a buzz—Emma and Matthew both had that mix of excitement and calmness that makes my job so much fun. The laughter, the little nervous smiles, the final touches before heading off—it set the tone for a day that was full of joy.
Ceremony at the City Chambers
Edinburgh’s City Chambers is always such a beautiful backdrop for “I do’s.” Emma and Matthew looked incredible as they exchanged their vows, surrounded by their closest family and friends. There was this energy in the room that just radiated love—it was impossible not to get swept up in it.
A Stroll Through the Streets of Edinburgh
After the ceremony, we wandered through the cobbled streets of Edinburgh for their photoshoot. These two are such naturals together—fun, relaxed, and completely themselves. The highlight? I spotted a guy with the coolest car and cheekily asked if Emma and Matthew could hop in for a few photos. He said yes, and honestly, those shots turned out to be some of their absolute favourites!
Reception at The Glasshouse
The celebrations continued at The Glasshouse, one of Edinburgh’s most stylish venues. It was the perfect setting for Emma and Matthew’s wedding meal and evening reception. With floor-to-ceiling glass, lush greenery, and that amazing city view, it felt both modern and warm—just like the couple themselves.
Speeches in the Garden
One of my favourite parts of the day was the speeches. Instead of the traditional sit-down format, Emma and Mathew hosted them outside in the Glasshouse garden during the drinks reception. Guests gathered around with glasses in hand, laughter and applause echoing under the open sky. It was fresh, relaxed, and so personal—a brilliant idea I’d love to see more couples embrace!
Confetti, Love & Pure Joy
There’s something about confetti photos that never fails to make me smile, and Emma and Matthew’s were no exception. Pure happiness, white shower, pure fun. By the time the evening rolled in, more guests had joined, and the garden was alive with laughter, chatter, and that special kind of joy that only comes from being surrounded by people who truly love you.
A Couple Who Feel Like Friends
When met Emma and Matthew from a very start they’ve felt more like friends than clients. Their warmth, their kindness, and their way of making everyone around them feel special—well, it made me feel just as appreciated as I hope I made them feel.
